Abstract

Quality information is regarded as organizational strategic asset which stands as the nexus to organizational survival. It is based on this premise that this study tends to x-ray the relationship between management information system veracity and organizational performance of fast food and restaurant firms in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, Nigeria. The study made used of cross sectional research design via survey method and the judgmental sampling technique was adopted to reach out the target sample size of 100 senior staffs from the selected fast food and restaurant firms. The Pearson correlation, partial correlation and multiple regression statistical tests were adopted to test the four hypotheses. The findings revealed that information quality, system quality and service quality have significant and positive relationship with organizational performance. The findings also revealed that top management commitment moderates the relationship between management information system veracity and organizational performance. Based on the findings, the study concludes that information quality, service quality and system quality improves organizational performance, but service quality has a moderate effect. Top management commitment influences the relationship between management information system veracity and organizational performance. The study recommends that Management should ensure that they provide high quality information, user friendly systems and superior services to customers in order to have competitive advantage.
