OMANARP prioritizes the inclusion of its journals and articles in major academic indexing platforms, such as Google Scholar, and others to increase visibility, discoverability, and citation potential. Google Scholar is one of the most widely used search engines for scholarly research and indexes millions of academic articles across various disciplines.
Process of Indexing with Google Scholar
- Metadata Submission:
- OMANARP ensures that the metadata for each article published in its journals is formatted according to the technical and quality standards required by Google Scholar. This includes complete and accurate bibliographic information such as article titles, author names, abstract, keywords, journal name, and publication date.
- OMANARP ensures that every article has a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and proper citation details, as these are critical for indexing and tracking academic citations on platforms like Google Scholar.
- XML Feeds and Direct Submission:
- OMANARP's journals are indexed by Google Scholar through automated XML feeds, which are sent directly to the Google Scholar indexing system. These feeds contain all relevant metadata and links to full-text articles.
- In some cases, Google Scholar may directly crawl the OMANARP platform and index articles through the site’s own submission process.
- Full-Text Accessibility:
- To ensure that articles are properly indexed and ranked in Google Scholar, full-text versions of the articles (either as HTML or PDF) must be freely accessible to the public. OMANARP adheres to this requirement by making all published articles available under a Creative Commons license (CC BY), ensuring open access.
- Authors are encouraged to upload preprints, supplementary data, and other relevant materials to ensure comprehensive indexing and discoverability.
- Quality Control and Review:
- OMANARP regularly monitors the indexing process and works closely with Google Scholar, Cross Ref, to ensure that all journal articles meet their technical and quality standards. This includes checking for issues related to metadata formatting, article accessibility, and the accuracy of bibliographic information.
- Citations and Metrics:
- Articles indexed by Google Scholar are eligible to receive citations, which are tracked by Google Scholar’s citation index. OMANARP actively encourages authors to share and promote their research to maximize visibility and citation impact.
- Google Scholar’s citation counts are a key metric for the success of research articles, and the ability to track citations helps both authors and journals evaluate the academic impact of their publications.

- Google Scholar typically indexes articles shortly after they are published. OMANARP works to ensure that newly accepted articles are indexed as quickly as possible. This allows researchers to share their work with the academic community immediately upon publication.
Benefits of Google Scholar Indexing
- Increased Visibility: Being indexed in Google Scholar enhances the discoverability of research articles, making them accessible to a global audience of researchers, students, and professionals.
